IMPORTANT: An informational meeting on the Common Core

School Standards will be held on Monday May 20, 2013

at 7pm at the Bill Kelly Justice Complex in Somerville.

Maria Mitchell will share information that has come to

light on this move to mesh school standards on a national

level. The changes will not only effect public school

students but will eventually impact all students, home

schoolers and private schools too! Some states that have

signed on are now having second thoughts and are

pulling out or putting the move on hold. Come and hear

why Tennessee should consider pulling out also.

There are many questions that still have not been 

answered by anyone in the state administration and a 

major question for local government is who will pay

for this effort. I strongly encourage all elected 

officials to attend this forum to hear Mrs. Mitchell

and evaluate the information you receive. You will

have opportunities to ask questions. For more

Start at 9 AM, there are 5 one-hour sections with breaks in between, and one of them will be a full lunch break.
